The Green Suite

So I decided to add a few plants to the open spots in my windowfarm. Michelle and I were at the farmers market and I picked up a few seedlings for 3 bucks each. I got habanero, basil, and mint. Thankfully, they didn’t seem to be bothered by the transplant from dirt to hydro. The mint smells so good! I can’t wait to see how big they will get.

We’ve got worms! I finally got my worms in my compost bin. I have already noticed a reduction of trash. In a few months I will have the best compost money can buy except it will be totally free, and derived from our waste! It was really easy to set up. Total cost on everything including the worms was less than $30.

So technically this is a green energy post ;) I found this chandelier at a thrift store for $15 but is was all beat up. So I had to fix a few things on it before I painted it with some left over paint. Then strung it with beads and jewels I bought on clearance at Michael’s. It was a lot of work, but the final product looks great.  Total cost was $35 for the chandelier and another $30 for the CFL bulbs.

Finally got the repaired panel back in place. After three days of work I’m back where I started. Oh well, at least it’s all working again. Both panels are putting out 19 volts at around 5 amps. Stay tuned for the next project, which will be a worm bin. :)
